Ohio's Coastweeks 2009 

Note: When attending a cleanup event wear old clothes and old shoes or hiking-type boots (no flip-flops, please), bring bottled water, sunscreen or bug spray are always a good idea. If you have extra gloves, rakes, brooms, please bring them along. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A release must be signed by all volunteers. Please register if required so enough items can be obtained for everyone. Land volunteers will work in groups of 4 or more and document what they find.

SEPTEMBER 12
8:00 a.m. 13th Annual Clean Your Streams Day!  Are you tired of seeing trash along our streams? Volunteer at one of the following locations to remove litter and make a difference.  Highland Park Shelter House, 1865 Finch St., Toledo; Olander Park Shelter House, 6930 Sylvania Ave., Sylvania; University of Toledo Library, Toledo; St. Frances DeSales High School, 2323 W. Bancroft St., Toledo; International Park, 26 Main St., Toledo; Lake Township Friendship Park Shelter House, 27975 Cummings Rd., Milbury; Oregon Municipal Building, 5330 Seaman Rd., Oregon; Washington Township Fire Station, 2469 Shoreland Ave., Toledo.   You will receive cleanup information at the site you choose. 9:00 a.m. Walnut Beach Cleanup! We will clean our shoreline and record findings as part of state and international efforts. Walnut Beach is located at Walnut Blvd., Ashtabula, OH. SEPTEMBER 19  - INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP DAY

8:30 a.m. Keep Mentor Beautiful! Clean up activities will take place along the shores of Lake Erie. Volunteers needed to clean the east and west ends of the beach at the Mentor Lagoons & Preserve. Meeting place: in front of the Marina Office at 8365 Harbor Drive, Mentor, OH. SEPTEMBER 21 Put-in-Bay Cleanup  Wanted: Scuba Divers and Land Volunteers. Lots to do on the island after a great summer. Be part of the solution by helping clean up Put-in-Bay's downtown harbor. All registered volunteers can take the Miller Ferry free to the Island.
